Meet the artist.

I’m Austin Montreil Leonard, the heart and soul behind Pluck Rug Co. What began as a spark of inspiration after leaving a 5-year full-time job has grown into a passionate pursuit of art through custom handmade rugs. I’m a 34-year-old North Carolina native who has called Bend, Oregon home for nearly 15 years. This scenic haven, with its winding rivers and tranquil lakes, is a constant muse in my work.

Pluck Rug Co. was born from a deep-seated urge to create and share tangible art, as with over a decade of creating digital work, I knew a change was needed. Every rug is a testament to hours of meticulous craftsmanship and creative dedication. The intricate patterns and textures you see are inspired by many things including native cultures and my love for the great outdoors, particularly fly fishing and the natural beauty surrounding me here in the PNW.

2024 brought me some epic projects, including a huge project with Converse and Tyler the Creators new brand, “GOLF le fleur.” Looking ahead, I’m excited about the new projects and creative ventures on the horizon for 2025. My goal is to continue expanding my artistic boundaries and bring fresh, innovative designs to life.
